The following instructions apply to US trademarks through the USPTO. If you own a European Trademark, please use the following database: https://euipo.europa.eu/ohimportal/en/search-availability. For all other countries, please feel free to reach out here and we will be happy to assist you.
1) Is the trademark fully registered?
- Go to https://www.uspto.gov/trademarks/search **Press “search our trademark database”
- Choose the option “ Basic Word Mark Search (New User)”
- Under “search term”, enter your trademark application number -> Under “field”, choose “serial or registration number”-> Press “submit”. Note: If you do not know your trademark application number, you may type your brand name, and press “submit”-> then choose the relevant trademark
- If your application is fully registered, it will include a “Registration Number”, as well as a “Registration Date”. If these do not appear under your trademark, the trademark is still pending (i.e., it is still under a registration process).
2) Which products were covered under the trademark?
If your trademark was applied for in the US through the USPTO, follow the following instructions:
- Go to https://www.uspto.gov/trademarks/search
- Press “search our trademark database”
- Choose the option “ Basic Word Mark Search (New User)”
- Under “search term”, enter your trademark application number -> Under “field”, choose “serial or registration number”-> Press “submit”. Note: If you do not know your trademark application number, you may type your brand name, and press “submit”-> then choose the relevant trademark
- The list of products you have applied for will appear under “Goods and services”.
